Having recently retired, our client had just purchased an apartment downtown that was both dark and dated, but with some real potential to make it a stylish and comfortable pied a terre.
Must haves: a cozy recliner to watch TV in, space to entertain grown children and grandchildren, an updated kitchen and a small office.
Painting the cabinets and replacing the countertops and hardware allowed us to keep the appliances while still giving the kitchen a new look. We also added wainscotting and crown molding, creating a more cohesive and elevated look throughout the unit. Keeping the furniture light and to scale made sure the space felt open and airy.
